Preschool

Young children learn best through play, exploration, and multi-sensory experiences. The program at Trinity Lutheran Preschool is designed to fit these learning characteristics. It offers a Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate environment in which each student is loved and accepted as a special child of God. Activities and experiences are created to meet the needs of young children. Children are busy talking, playing, exploring, and learning in a classroom filled with Jesus' love. Classes include Building Blocks for 3/4 year olds and Stepping Stones for the 4/5 year old getting ready for Kindergarten. Full day and half day programs are available for both closses.

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten programs at Trinity Lutheran School offer a place for children to build a solid foundation of habits, to share experiences, and to get ready for a more formal academic setting. Children learn to work and play with others in a Christian manner. Through developmentally appropriate activities, children are engaged in reading and math readiness as well as exploration of the world around them. They also learn how to follow directions and listen and respond to each other. Learning about God's love through Jesus and knowing Him as their friend is foundational to the Kindergarten experience. Trinity offers both a half-day and full-day Kindergarten option.

Elementary School

The elementary curriculum, grades 1-5, provides excellence in instruction in all subject areas while integrating Christian principles. Strength in basic skill areas lays the foundation needed to enrich and challenge further learning. Students also experience a variety of hands-on activities and experiences to enrich their learning. Spiritual growth focuses on each child's faith relationship with Jesus Christ and with others. Trinity provides the necessary academic and spiritual resources to prepare the students for the next level of learning.

Middle School

Trinity's Middle School, grades 6-8, endeavors to provide a secure environment in which students can explore their unique talents and gifts. During this time of dramatic personal growth and change, students are challenged to build on the knowledge and skills they have garnered in their elementary years while enjoying emotional, spiritual and social support required of this very special stage of development.

Music and Drama
Musical education provides students with the opportunity to experience musical concepts through movement, speech, song and the playing of a wide variety of instruments. Students will grow musically in skills such as tone matching, beat competency, understanding of notation, development of instrumental techniques and the reading of music. Students in grades 1-8 attend a General Music class once a week and a Choir class once a week. Students in grades 4-8 also have the opportunity to sign up for Band or Orchestra classes and instruction. Students in grades 1-3 perform in a Christmas musical drama, while grades 4-8 help celebrate the end of the school year with a musical play. The main goal of Trinity's Music Education program is to help students find ways to participate with their gift of music and make a joyful noise to the Lord!
Technology
Students are enabled to enhance their classroom experience and individual growth through computer based technologies and communication tools. Classrooms and the library are equipped with workstations, while the computer lab setting allows for whole-group instruction. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 learn basic computer and keyboarding skills and a variety of software applications, develop research skills, and utilize technology as a tool to promote understanding and learning.

Athletics
Trinity sponsors interscholastic athletic teams to give students an opportunity to glorify God with their abilities. Beginning in fifth grade, boys traditionally participate in soccer and basketball. Girls' teams include volleyball, basketball and cheerleading. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 also participate in an annual Track and Field Day with regional Lutheran schools. Goals of the athletic program are to demonstrate Christian sportsmanship, enhance physical fitness, develop fundamental skills and strategies related to each sport, and to develop relationship skills with authorities and peers.
